Founded in 1990, Cottingham Insurance Agency is now a 2nd generation family owned business providing insurance coverage across North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado, and Arizona.
With 15 licensed agents on staff and offices located in Bismarck and Underwood, ND, Cottingham Insurance is dedicated to finding clients the right policy for their specific needs. We are committed to client satisfaction and making transitional moves as easy as possible.

Missy Fischer, Licensed Agent / Location Manager

Missy was born and raised in Underwood. She moved back to the area with her husband to raise their family because they like the small town atmosphere and being close to family.
Missy has been employed with Cottingham Insurance since 2015 and specializes in home, auto, umbrella, and recreational vehicle insurance, as well as making sure the Underwood location runs smoothly. Her favorite part of the job is getting to know clients and being able to tailor policies to fit their personal needs, as well as helping them understand the coverage and policies.
Missy’s hobbies include camping, fishing, and photography.
Nick Slavik, Licensed Agent
Nick was born in Minot, but says Underwood will always be his home.
He spent about a decade working in the construction industry before taking a position with Cottingham Insurance in 2020.
Nick enjoys golfing, being outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends.

Toni grew up in Underwood. After graduating from Minot State University with a BA in education, she taught and coached at Underwood High School for 25 years.
Toni joined Cottingham Insurance in 2018 and enjoys the opportunity to help her clients better understand insurance and coverages.
Toni loves golfing, spending time at the lake, watching Class B sports, and spending time with her family and friends.

Jeremy was raised on a farm by Underwood. He attended college at NDSU in Fargo where he was a graduate student/researcher. He currently farms with his family near Underwood while working as an insurance agent as well, specializing in farm and crop insurance.
Jeremy enjoys farming, listening to and playing music, and spending time with his wife and dog.

Emily grew up and graduated high school in Turtle Lake, ND. She now lives in Riverdale with her husband and 2 children.
Emily has been a licensed agent with Cottingham Insurance since 2014, working primarily with personal lines and farm insurance coverage.
Emily enjoys traveling, lake time, hunting, hiking and anything outdoors with her family.

Wade grew up on a farm by Litchville in southeast ND. After graduating high school from Litchville-Marion, he attended Bismarck State College & University of Mary where he received a bachelor’s degree in Business.
Wade worked as an auto mechanic and land surveyor during his college years in Bismarck. After college, he was hired by Professional Insurance Agent’s (PIA) of ND as the assistant director. While working at PIA he met his future wife, Amanda, and was offered an insurance agent position by her mother, Diane Cottingham, in 2004. He also farms in the Litchville-Marion area on his family farm raising wheat, corn, and soybeans. His passion and continued involvement in farming has been a great asset in his career as a farm & crop insurance agent.
Wade’s hobbies include hunting, ice fishing, working in his garage, and spending time with his wife, Amanda, and 3 children as much as possible.

Amanda was born and raised in Underwood, ND. She moved away for college, but missed the small town life so moved back to rural Underwood to raise her family with husband, Wade.
Amanda grew up in the family business and knew she loved the business world in general. She committed to the family insurance business in 2006, becoming a 2nd generation owner in 2012. She enjoys the variety of tasks that come with running a family business, but especially loves helping other agents grow and reach their goals.
Outside of the office, Amanda enjoys spending time at the lake, reading, and spending as much time as possible with Wade and their 3 children.

Shari was born in Bismarck, and lived in Mandan most of her life. She lived in FL and AL for a few years, and then made her way back home to Bismarck. She is married with 3 girls, 1 step son, and 6 grandchildren.
Shari has been in the insurance business since 2005, and with Cottingham Insurance since 2015.
Shari’s dream is to someday retire in Florida! Her hobbies are playing bingo, and spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Debbie grew up in the Selz/Harvey area of ND. She has been in the insurance industry since 1988, and with Cottingham Insurance since 2018.
In her spare time, Debbie enjoys gardening, going to junkin shows and antique stores, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Londell is originally from Parshall, ND. He now lives in Bismarck with his wife and 2 children.
Londell has been with Cottingham Insurance since 2011. He loves working with new customers and explaining insurance coverage to clients. He especially enjoys meeting and visiting with farmers/ranchers whether it is talking insurance needs or simply how things are going.
Londell enjoys hunting and fishing, spending time in the outdoors, and teaching his kids how to fix things.

DeAnna was raised in Hettinger, ND through high school. After graduation she completed Associates in Arts & Science degrees at UND-Williston, and completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics Education at Dickinson State University. She was a math teacher for grades 7-12 at North Sargent School in Gwinner ND for 3 years, before moving to Bismarck in 2001 and has been with Cottingham Insurance since.
DeAnna has 2 children and 1 grandchild that she loves spending time with whenever she can. She is also a member of BisMan HomeBuilders Association, Professional Women in Building, and one of the founding members of BisMan Power of 100. DeAnna loves giving back and has volunteered with Special Olympics, Heaven’s Helpers Soup Café, GABR, and United Way in various events.
Jessica Cottingham-Hardy, COO

Jessica was raised in Underwood and grew up in the insurance business. She got licensed shortly after she graduated high school so that she could take on more tasks in the agency, but then decided to pursue a career in medicine. After completing her degrees in Biology and Chemistry, while also playing college basketball, she decided to return to the family business in 2002.
Jessica enjoys piecing together an insurance package to fit each individual’s needs and also loves meeting new people and making lasting relationships with them.
Jessica is married to Tyler Hardy, has two daughters, and lives in Bismarck. She enjoys keeping the girls busy discovering all of the sports and activities that she enjoyed participating in while growing up. Her hobbies are traveling, reading and spending as much time with friends and family as possible.
Jessica is active with the MSA United Way and enjoys volunteering to help her community whenever she can.
